Lowestoft First Light Festival - Yoga, Arts, Music n Chill by the Sea!
How lovely to see some Culture and Life being bought right into the Heart of Lowestoft!! The First Light Festival, although small, had a beautiful peaceful atmosphere and family feel! Everyone I spoke to at the event was from out of town (many from Norwich City and even as far away as Glastonbury or further!) and they ALL loved Lowestoft, agreeing that this event has so much potential for future years! The idea of the 24 hour Festival was to celebrate the Summer Solstice and to recognise Lowestoft as the UK'S most Easterly point and the fact we are blessed with the very first rays of the day, each and every day!
The official website states:
"First Light Festival is a truly unique, 24 hour long multi-arts beach & beach front festival that, as the sun rises celebrates the UK’s ‘First Light’ of day as it touches Britain on the seafront of its most easterly town, Lowestoft."
This video was on ITV news before the event:
Before the event kicked off I managed to catch a photo of Wayne Hemingway (one of the main inspirations and organisers of the event) chilling out in the Yoga area in the beautiful Tipis that were erected on the beach :

And as I have just mentioned the Yoga Tipi, for me personally this whole area was the most interesting and Peaceful area to be in and an absolute highlight! There were many healing modalities in this area, but the beautiful goods from Bodhi Tree really made this area pop as they hung interesting, lovely items everywhere to enhance the Tipi and Yoga area. Bodhi Tree are based on London Road South in Lowestoft and the quality of the beautiful, ethical goods is second to none!! I bought this beautiful Elephant Spirit parasol and will be back for more shopping soon :) Please visit Bodhi Tree website here for Fair Trade Goods!!

In the Yoga area there were two very vibrant and full of great energy Yoga teachers.... Sandra Barnes of Sandra Barnes Yoga and also Stella Raphael-Reeves of Tribal Spirit Arts
Sandra Barnes:

Sandra had a very grounded and deeply Connected, Spiritual Based Love Presence about her. In her session I bonded with Strangers and we all gave healing to each other under Sandras Guidance! It was quite a Beautiful, freeing experience! She has a very busy schedule all over the country over the summer so if you wish to follow her then her website is here with all the info you need.
In the first photo below we were instructed to be Free moving like an Octopus, and in the photo below it we grouped together and enjoyed freeing our Heart Chakras as a Group of Strangers yet on the same Path :) :

Stellas style was more Vibrant and Direct, complimenting Sandras more laid back style beautifully! Stella is VERY energised and if you want a more High Impact or Dance/Ecstatic Vibed Workout then you will enjoy her Energy and Style! :) Over the Summer months 2019 Stella Raphael-Reeves the Director of Tribal Spirit will be holding a series of Pop Up Yoga and Tribal Dance sessions on the Beach at Pakefield during the summer months. The sessions will be for adults only in the first instance. Dates and times to be confirmed over the next few weeks so contact Stella via Facebook if you are interested.
